Elf is a laugh out loud family comedy that everyone can enjoy. The movie Elf is written by David Berenbaum and directed by Jon Favreav. Elf is a movie about an orphan named Buddy (Will Farrell) who crawls into Santa’s present bag. When Santa gets back to the North Pole he finds Buddy and decides to adopt and raise him as an elf. Buddy later finds out he isn't an elf, so he travels to New York to try and find his parents, while Buddy is in new your he meets a girl named Jovie and later falls in love with her. Everyone in New York has no Christmas spirit, without it Santa’s sleigh can’t fly.
There are some great characters in the movie the first one is Buddy (Will Farrell) is an “elf” then turns out he isn't actually an elf. another is Santa (Ed Asner) is the one that decides to raise him as an elf but that doesn’t turn out very well. Then there is Walter Hobbs, (James Caan) he turns out to be Buddy’s real father. and Micheal (Daniel Tay) is Walter Hobbs son - buddy’s father; buddy and Micheal become best friends. And last is Jovie (Zooey Deschanel) is the one that that Buddy falls in love with.
The theme of this movie is Family. Elf deeply talks about how your family is important. even though buddy loves the north pole and has made a lot of friends there, buddy finds it important to go find his real family. No matter what it takes he will make it to New York to find his family.
I personally love this movie! It is a great comedy movie to watch with your family and friends during the Christmas season. Another movie that is kind of like Elf is “The Santa Clause”. “The Santa Clause” is about a father an son that saves Christmas. santa falls off a roof and hurts his head. A father and son deliver the presents for Santa.
The movie Elf is rated PG by common sense media for mild language, violence and scariness, and alcohol consumption. This movie is given 4/5 stars by common sense media.
I recommend this movie to people who love a good laugh and Christmas. This is a great movie for children and friends to watch on Christmas morning and during the season.
