Book VS Movie

Wonder is an amazing nonfiction story, about a boy with a deformed face that he was born with. August (Auggie) Pollman played by Jacob Tremblay, has never been to a real school because of his face so he’s just been home-schooled by his mom, Isabella played by Julia Roberts. His mom thought he was ready to go school, while his dad, Nate played by Owen Wilson, doesn’t agree he’s ready. But he goes to school anyways.

When i first heard that Auggie was going to school, I was thinking “Welp R.I.P Auggie.” But I was wrong. Although Auggie had some trouble, he still made it through school and I was so worried he wouldn’t, but he did and I was proud. I know what you’re thinking “How are you proud of him? You don’t even know him,” Well if you read books a lot, then you will get attached to the characters. I got attached to Auggie, I felt like he was a great friend and maybe we could relate a little, not a lot, but a little. He was my favorite character in the book. He was just so cool and I loved how he fought threw all the hate and stares and bullying people put him through.

If you haven’t seen the movie or read the book then I insist you read the book first, even if you’re not big on reading, it’s worth it. The reason why I’m telling you to read the book first is because it’s better than the movie. I know what you’re thinking “How is it better than the movie?” Well first off, The movie left out some things that were in the book, that in my opinion, were important. The movie also changed some of the scenes from the books. They changed how he left to go bathroom and bonked into some bullies. Not trying to give spoilers but the movie changed so much from the book, the book had better details and you get to use your imagination. They also changed point of views. For example,in the book they switch the point of views in Jack WIll’s chapter and Via’s chapter.

The book explained so much more than the movie. It showed detail and the best part is that you get to use your imagination. The book will make you cry and laugh more than the movie. As an emotional person, the movie made me cry only once. Meanwhile, the book made me tear up and cry probably more than the movie did. I never read, so falling in love with a book so much so that I won’t stop thinking about it means a lot. I guess I just found my perfect book.

If you love books like wonder, then I insist you read it before you watch the movie, trust me on this, the book is way better.
