Generation Z - Stuck?

From the 1980’s to the current year (2018) the internet has developed exponentially. To this day generation z has been exposed to many different types of technology, apps, video games and much more.

We interviewed multiple students at Desert Garden Montessori, a small private school in Ahwatukee, to find out how they feel about their devices, applications and games they play.

We asked a series of questions such as, “how long do you spend on your phone per day?” Majority of the student responded 2 to 3 hours per day. The student were asked “what is your favorite app on your phone?” most of the student replied, SnapChat, Instagram and Netflix.

We also asked the students “if they could give up there phone for one week?” The students replied “if it was a life or death situation” and “if someone could take over my streaks on SnapChat.” we also asked if you have a laptop almost all of the people said yes. We also asked if

they owned a ipad. a good majority replied yes.

Generation Z has been said to be addicted to their devices. One of the reasons being how many new technology apps and games have been developed in our time. most of the reason that kids constantly play video games and stay on their devices is that their brain has developed a normality to devices being in their everyday life. It has also created a pattern in their daily activity. The the human mind is drawn to patterns. kids crave video games.

Most children nowadays have their own personal devices such as personal cell phones and tablets. This is the reason most kids prefer to stay inside and make progress on their favorite game instead of go outside and climb a tree.

This does not in fact take away from the aspect of competitiveness between friends and others. Now games are able to link to each other so that friends can now play with each other in the same game and at the same time. You are also able to keep track of your high score so that you are able to brag to others.

So is generation z stuck? Stuck on there devices? Stuck in time? What is your opinion?
